Clinical examinations and services at Weill Cornell Eye Associates can be obtained for virtually every eye and vision disorder. These services are provided by board-certified university physicians who have also completed additional training in many areas of specialization in eye disorders. These areas include Cornea and Anterior Segment Diseases, Glaucoma, Laser Vision Correction and Refractive Surgery, Neuro-Ophthalmology, Pediatric Eye Diseases, Vitreoretinal and Macular Diseases, and Oculoplastics. Comprehensive (General) Ophthalmology Services and Contact Lens and Eyeglass Prescriptions are also available.
It is important that your appointment be scheduled with a physician appropriate to your needs, in order to obtain the most suitable examination and services. If you have been previously evaluated and are being referred to a specific physician, or if you have an established diagnosis, please provide that information to the Call Center (646-962-2020) when you schedule your appointment. If you have not been previously evaluated or if you are unsure as to the appropriate clinical service to request, the Call Center will help you arrange your appointment. In many cases, patients without a previous diagnosis or who are not being referred to a specific Weill Cornell Eye Associates physician will benefit from an initial evaluation by one of our physicians who also provides initial comprehensive ophthalmologic examinations. Please understand that if a more complicated, subspecialty problem is detected in this exam, a return appointment at a later date may be required; however, if a problem of an emergency nature is found, subspecialty care will be arranged promptly. Finally, if your problem is complex and has been evaluated extensively in the past, and if this information will be critical to your care, please have your records sent to the physician with whom you are scheduled, or bring them with you on the day of your appointment.
Visit the For Our Patients section of our web site for additional important information regarding items to bring and other details for your appointment. The Departmental offices are located on the 11th and 12th floor of the Weill Greenberg Center (1305 York Avenue, at 70th Street). Please ask the Call Center for the location of your appointment and check-in. We make every effort to see you as close to your scheduled appointment time as possible, but due to the extreme demands for the tertiary referral services we provide, at times you may experience some delay. Most examinations, even those including dilation of pupils (which requires 25-40 minutes) are completed well within two hours or less. We look forward to being of service to you, and please feel free to contact us if you have any questions.
