Dr. Szilárd Kiss recieves Rhett Buckler Award

Dr. Szilárd Kiss, a vitreoretinal surgeon at Weill Cornell, receives a coveted Rhett Buckler Award at the 2009 Retina Congress Gala Dinner in New York City. The impressive 8-lb, 24 carat gold-plated statuette is awarded to the top surgical films as judged by an expert panel according to overall appeal, clinical value, special effects, production quality, and entertainment.

Dr. Kiss' video is titled "Removal of Anterior Chamber and Vitreous Cavity Foreign Bodies Following Cataract Extraction and Glaucoma Filtering Procedure." The entry chronicles the removal of several vitreous cavity foreign bodies following a combined glaucoma filtering procedure and cataract extraction, and ultimately reveals their surprising identity.
